This program provides the opportunity for participants working in teams on medium to large projects to learn a variety of project schedule control processes and techniques, as well as to impart competency in the monitoring of actual project work. It also provides instructions for the recording and communication of scheduling changes to relevant stakeholders.

Monitoring and evaluating skills involve assessing risk, which is a project management skill that is fundamental to business success. Understanding and learning how to control risk forms a core part of any project and is integrated into this program. Another important project management skill is establishing how to evaluate and improve team performance. These monitoring and evaluating techniques are important components of this program, allowing participants to explain, evaluate, improve and maintain high-level team performance.

Duration:

  • Three half days contact time including facilitation and group activities
  • 30 days self-study after which participants are to submit their Portfolio of Evidence

Learning outcomes:

Upon completing this program, the participants should be able to:

  • Describe and explain a range of project schedule processes and techniques
  • Monitor actual project work versus planned work
  • Record and communicate schedule changes
  • Establish performance standards and monitor systems
  • Prepare for performance review of team members
  • Conducting performance review interviews
  • Explain and use a given team performance reference framework
  • Evaluate team performance using given team performance reference framework
  • Maintain records resulting from evaluation of team performance
  • Facilitate team performance improvements using assessment findings
  • Establish performance standards and monitor systems
  • Conduct performance review interview Identify and recognize potential risks that could affect project performance
  • Contribute to the assessment of the impact and likelihood of identified risks
  • Contribute to the development of risk management statements and plans; and
  • Monitor and control the project risks

Certification:

  • An IIT Certificate of Competence will be awarded to all delegates who successfully submit and are found competent on their Portfolios of Evidence (PoEs).
  • An IIT Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to all delegates who do not submit a PoE within the specified timeframe after attending the three days of training.

Prerequisites:

This course assumes that the student has a fundamental understanding of business as well as possesses the necessary English literacy to understand the contents of this course. This course is aimed at all levels of the workforce and aims to improve time management and organizational skills.
